Technology leaders bring a fresh perspective to enhance Britain’s Digital Railway programme
Over 100 individuals from industry and government today attended the release of the second report from the Early Contractor Involvement Programme. The report brought together ‘non-traditional’ technology suppliers from outside the rail industry, building upon their own skills and experiences.
Across nine different workstreams, major themes of data, people, commercial relationships and communications systems emerged as pivotal to the future needs of Britain’s digital railway.
The event also featured an address by Lord Prior, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Lord Prior spoke of the industry’s consistent capacity to innovate and how new digital developments will have a significant impact on society and the economy.
