Joint Development Group (JDG)

What is the Joint Development Group (JDG)?

The JDG is an open and collaborative platform whereby the supplier community are called upon to support digital railway project development. This allows the Digital Railway Programme to connect the right skills and competencies from multiple suppliers to digital railway project teams.

By jointly developing solutions to complex and unconventional problems, the JDG can unlock new and innovative ways of driving efficiency, meeting capacity and performance challenges and achieving value for money on the journey to a digital railway.

Who can join?

Anyone can join the JDG. All we ask is that you agree to sign up to our Collaborative Charter, complete the membership form and send it to us.

At the moment, to qualify for a placement on a JDG commission (a team made up of multiple suppliers) you will need to be registered with the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS).

A key principal of the JDG is openness and inclusion which is why we are developing ways to make our membership as diverse as possible.

Initial membership benefits include: early notification of commissions and outcomes, JDG newsletters, and an invitation to quarterly problem-solving hackathons.
